Our Class Plege
Our three main rules are:

This is what we are focusing on in the classroom right now. Click on the links on the top right to get more information.
MATH: We are identifying patterns, completing patterns, making patterns, and labeling patterns and pattern units. We are also subtracting to solve problems.
READING: We are learning some decoding strategies for when we get stuck on an unknown word. Our focus has been on trying different vowel sounds when we get stuck on a word.
AUTHOR STUDIES: Kevin Henkes is the author of "Lily's Purple Plastic Purse", "Chrysanthemum", "Julius The Baby Of The World", "Sheila Rae The Brave", "Wemberly Worried", "Owen" and many more. Lois Ehlert is the author of "Color Zoo", "Snowballs", "My World", "Cuckoo" and many more. She is a colorful and creative artist and a wonderful author.
Our new author of study is Robert Munsch. He is mostly a comedic author who is loved by all those who read him. He has written books like "Paperbag Princess", "Love You For Ever", "Angela's Airplane", "Andrew's Loose Tooth" and many more. You can download his stories for FREE at his website and load them onto your iPod!!!
WRITING: We are writing every day! We mostly write about our weekends in our journals. We tell true stories during Writers' Workshop. We are making a class Halloween story in the computer lab. In social studies we are writing 2 books, one about our trip to the pyramids, and another one called "Me on the Map".
SCIENCE: We are studying magnets and what they attract. Did you know that mangnets only attract SOME metals?
SOCIAL STUDIES: We are learning how to be a community of friends and helpers. We are talking about cities, countries, and continents and where our place on a map is. Can you believe that we have 10 different countries represented in our classroom?!
