Astronomy Club

The CAC Astronomy Club is opened to students that obviously have a particular interest in the topic but also have an interest in learning how to use and operate a very sophisticated set of equipment. This includes a ten-inch Schmidt Cassegrain telescope, a CCD camera with color filter system, 2 video cameras, time-lapse video tape recorder, all housed in a three meter astronomical observatory atop the technology building on campus. We host bimonthly viewings at the observatory. Some students pursue their own projects during their own time and this can amount to some real serious, science.
