Writer’s Group

The CAC high school Writers Group is a voluntary activity that is open to any and all high school students who wish to develop and discuss writing. The group meets off campus in Maa’di about every two weeks. Dates and times for the meeting are confirmed through the CAC High school Morning Announcements. We eat, write, share and discuss our own writing. This is a low stress environment. Students may come every time or occasionally. The group meets in a home or if none is available at another off campus venue such as Cilantro’s. We generally meet at the front gate at 5 p.m. and walk to the hosting family’s home together. We finish at 7 p.m. and students return to school or to their homes on foot as well. We try to find a different family to host the group each meeting. Please sign up to host. ( If a meeting is scheduled outside of Maa’di, parents will be asked to confirm participation of their student with a special permission slip).

The goal of this group is to provide a non-evaluative space for all types of writers in the school. We provide a space for sharing, but do not require it. The group is completely supportive and non-critical; our writers share the experience and joy of writing. Often members contribute to the Papyrus but there are no requirements.
