Seeking expertise from both local and international firms, Cairo American College commissioned award-winning US-based design firms with experience in the design of international sustainable schools, and local firms for their knowledge of local construction materials, architecture, and construction supervision. Hillier Worldwide Architecture worked on the development of the Master Plan and the design of the Elementary School along with local firm Raafat-Miller Consulting (RMC). For the design of the Middle School and the Middle School/High School Library, Perkins Eastman of New York City partnered with local consultants Wassef Design Office (WDO).

The primary purpose of the Master Plan is qualitative improvement of the existing campus, but it does not neglect the aesthetic. Using a distinctive and unifying Middle Eastern style in its architecture and interior design reflective of the Egyptian character, the Master Plan will enhance the school's current programs while providing additional venues for school and community gatherings. The plan sustains the current student enrollment of 1,400.

The Master Plan encompasses the development of World Class facilities utilizing quality building standards and materials that support environmental sustainability, an important element of CAC's long term legacy and overall Strategic Plan. Sufficiently large and well-lit learning spaces will fit curricular and co-curricular needs, while state-of-the-art information technology will continue to be accessible throughout the school.

The campus will maintain the same amount of green space and will continue to act as a lively and welcoming community area without compromising its diligent safety and security standards.
