Send us copies of written work that illustrate language problems you'd like us to work on with the student. Keep us informed of major projects (especially research), the student may need extra help with. Let us know when a major test is coming up, especially if the test uses a format unfamiliar to the student. Talk to us if you encounter communication difficulties with an ESL student. Let us know of specific language problems you notice in written work, in understanding class activities, or in reading textbooks. Try to coordinate what goes on in your class with the ESL teacher. The consistency and repetition can help the ESL student. |
