Field Trips

Egypt Festival

November 27-December 1

Dear Parents,

The Egyptian Culture Department would like to cordially invite you to attend our Egypt Festival Celebrations (November 27, 2011 through December 1, 2011). Please mark your calendar: *Tuesday, November 29, 2011 our Egyptian Food Festival for new comer parents will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the elementary lunchroom where you may sample a variety of Egyptian dishes. Freshly baked baladi bread (from our very own mud brick oven) will be on sale. *Thursday, December 1, 2011 Egypt Festival Day celebrations will take place. During that day, you can enjoy the following activities on campus: authentic artists exhibition (in the Captan-Amr Room (Rm 600) from Nov.25 to Dec.3) , demonstrations of various Egyptian crafts, henna tattooing, folk music and dance. Popular Egyptian snacks and freshly baked baladi bread will also be on sale. Please check the detailed schedule of events in the Elementary Express two weeks prior to the event. We hope you can all come to enjoy this very special celebration.

Egypt Day Assembly

In this Elementary school event, students give a theater performance. Egyptian folk songs, acting Egyptian stories and dancing to folk music are some of the highlights of this performance.

Grades 3 - 5 assembly 09:00 am - 10:00 am

Grades PreK - 2 assembly 10:20 am - 11:20 am

Homemade Egyptian recipes are also on sale once every other week in the Elementary lunchroom.
