Dear Parents,

Our class will be going on a field trip to the Saqqara Pyramid complex on Monday, October 28th. We will leave at 8:15, and return at approximately 2:00. Students need to wear appropriate clothing for this field trip. (ie. long pants or knee length pants, tops that cover the shoulders, and comfortable walking shoes). Students also need to bring a snack, a lunch, and extra water. Students may bring money for souvenirs. (10-15 LE is sufficient). If any parents would like to join us, please do.

Dear Parents,

As of Sunday, Sept. 29, 5D will begin a GYMNASTICS Unit in PE class. The students will be REQUIRED to wear shorts or pants, shirts without buttons or zippers, and sneakers and socks. NO SANDALS, Please! If you have any concerns, contact Mrs. LaJoie, our class' PE teacher.

Dear Parents,

If you haven’t visited our class website yet, I invite you to go there. As I have mentioned on the homepage, I hope that our website, The 5D Communicator, will be a useful communication tool for us this year.

I have included several links that you may find helpful, as they relate to your child’s schoolwork. The ‘HW, Tests, & Projects’ page has all of your child’s assignments, and it should help out, especially if your child forgets his/her planner at school (or if you can’t make sense out of what was written in the planner). The message page includes a note about swimming (it ends this week). The contact page has my home and school phone nos. and my e-mail address. Oh, and my ‘Meet Mr. Davis’ page tells all about me. So, if you get a chance, please visit our the ‘5D Communicator.’ I would appreciate hearing any comments you have about the site.

Now, getting the website is simple. You can either go to the CAC website (http://www.cacegypt.org) Select ‘Elementary School,’ and then scroll down on the pulldown menu and select ‘Mr. Davis Grade 5D.’ Or, you can go directly to:

Dear 5D Parents,

Today is the first day of fall. Where did September go?

I wanted to let everyone know that this is the last week of swimming. We have one more swim day (Wednesday), and then we're back to the regular P.E. classes. Maybe the teacher will even get in the pool with the children on Wednesday...

Dear 5D Parents,

I have just completed my website for the 5D students and parents. The purpose of my website is to keep you informed as to what is happening in 5D (and that's why I call it the 'The 5D Communicator.') I plan to update it daily. It includes info on me, the 5th grade teachers, 5D's schedule, and the CAC calendar. You will also find homework assignment, tests, and projects, as well as useful Internet sources on this site. And, if I need to send everyone a message, this is where you will find it. I hope the '5D Communicator' is useful to you.

If you have any comments or suggestions regarding my website, I would love to hear them.
