Electric Energy Conservation

1. Set A/C to no cooler than 23 degrees Celsius.
This is considered to be a comfortable temperature and will allow the air-conditioning unit to cycle on/off rather than running continuously.
It is okay to leave A/C running when you leave the room during the work day as invariably the A/C would have to run “overtime” to catch-up and bring the room back down to the desired temperature.
2. Always turn lights off when the room is not in use.
Even if it is just for 5 minutes, this does save electricity.
3. Turn computer off at the end of each workday.
4. In an effort to conserve electricity campus-wide, the mains electricity is turned off at 10pm each evening by the security personnel.
This saves energy by ensuring that all classroom/office lights/computers are turned off for the evening.
