My Sculpture Folio

Self Portait in Clay

This work was one of the most difficult ones i have done this year, getting the shape of my face was very challenging. However i did enjoy working on this project.

To prevent the head from blowing up, i hollowed the middle of the head and made some holes in different areas of the head to allow air through. i cut the head in half and removed some of the clay on the inside so the end product would not be too heavy.

This work tells me that my face features are harder to shape into clay than it seems. If i was to do this project again i would definately improve my hair, i would probably make it so that my hair is down instead of tied up. I would also try and add more detail into my facial features.

Recycled Scultpture

This work not only shows the recycling skills learnt and used in class, but my creative skills in creating something valuable out of trash.

This work tells me that anyone can reuse recyclable trash, and make something creative and original out of it.

To create this project, I used several recyclable materials, such as plastic water bottles, popsicle sticks, CDs, bottle caps, and some materials from CD cases. I honestly did now know what I was going to create at first, I started putting things together and then noticed is looked like a penguin, then I carried on adding more things to help complete the whole figure. I learnt a lot of things, including how to make something out of nothing, and how to work with recyclable objects.

If I was to do this project again, I would use time more wisely, and fix some parts of my penguin that were not completely finished.
