Dougs Art and Sculpture
My Head
My head was probably the most time consuming and important. It was the most time consuming because many steps involved making it. This was supposed to be a self-portrait of me, although it turned out not looking that close to me. I created it by looking at my self in the mirror as I worked. I put nose on by slipping and scoring them together. My sculpture proportions are a little distorted, for example my forehead is a little bigger, and rounder in real life. I created my hair with a craving tool. It gives it the texture like feeling. A goal that I have in the future is to redo this peace and make it better with new techniques.
My recycle project
I think this was the most fun project; we got a lot of freedom and were allowed to use many things. I started with legos on the bottom of my project which was kind of cheating, after that I became a lot more creative and put exouse pipes, antenna and a plastic covering. I put all these add-ons by gluing them with a hot glue gun.
There is another very unique trait of this piece, it connects with another persons work Phillipe Masson. By using magnets we were able to connect our to works of art. My goal in the future is to make more of these projects, it helps the enniorment.
