EDDIEOLIO

Recycled sculpture: This project was very interesting.   At first I did not know at all what I was going to make. Then half way through the project I realized it looked like a shark.   The purpose was to make some means of transportation for some kind of creature.   At first I planed for it to be some kind of UFO and put an alien inside, but it didn't seem original at all, so I changed plans.   Some times as you work your ideas change.   I used two top halves of water bottles as the body of the shark, lots of cut pieces of CDs as fins, random pieces of computer hardware chips to make it look electronic, and paper clips and other wires and random pieces of floppy disks for design.

My self portrait sculpture:   When making a sculpture like this you want to start out with a mass of clay work out all the air bubbles, then start making the shape working upwards.   It is nice to have it look just like you, but it is hard.   You want to look at every aspect, shapes, and curves of your face.   But mostly stress your main characteristics that define you, but not to make it look like a cartoon.   Once you are finished with all the shaping and defining all the features of your face you will cut your piece in two, preferably in a spot with not much definition so it will be easy for it to be put it back together and not have to do much re-defining.   Then you want to hollow it, score it and put on slip to put the two pieces back together. And last poke a few holes in it and cover them up lightly so any air can escape and it wont blow up.
