Kaori's sculpture folio
This page shows two of my sculpture pieces. One is thought to be good for the environment and another one is to show how well I have described myself by using a clay.

Recycle:

This work shows that the imagination of my recycling skills. This piece requires the imagination and how to form a certain shape out of a limited shape material.

This work told me that most of the trashes are renewable.

I thought of an object I could make out of my trashes, the first thing I thought was to create something very original. It was very hard, it didn't seem to turn out right, I tried to use as less glue gun as possible. But soon I realized that it doesn't work without glue gun. So I took some of the materials that I haven't used and finally I could make a thing, which was quite simple and good.

I learnt that I need a lot more imagination to make out something from a limited shaped material.

I used a cup of cup noodles, CDs, chopsticks, bottle, spoon and some beads.

it looks a little unstable, but it keeps itself up and even you shake the table it won't collaps

Self Portrait:

This work requires you the abilityto shape your face and to show that it's somehow significant to your face.

This work tells me that the skills to shape the face isn't that simple, you need some bits with lots of details and some part roughly.

I usually don't look myself in the mirror, so I wasn't used to use the mirror to make the face. When I saw myself and tried to make it, it was a lot more harder than I imagined. First of all my chin was quite pointy and weird shaped. I couldn't make the connection of the neck and the face very well. The face turned out bigger than I was planning to make it, so it was very heavy and shrunk the pe\art of my hair.

After all the details, I had to cut the head in half and take out all the clays in the head (I had to make a hollow), so that it won't blow into pieces when it's fired.

Not only that, I had to poke some of the part of the head to make an "escape hole", this allows the air to escape from the area where the air bubbles are.

And finally I could put the face away to fire it.

This work taught me how to shape things in detail and that even if you don't put so many details in certain place, people can tell exactly what you're making.
