The Hunt For Mr.Watermelon

The Week began with KGD taking Mr. Watermelon to the Nurse so he could be weighed and measured.

It weighed 13.5 pounds and

it was 9.5 inches tall.

The next day we decided to take him on a campus tour. On the way, Mrs. Cecilia came running to us and asked:
"Have you seen Mr. Watermelon I can't find him anywhere?" She said.
“ I was following you guys but it was very heavy so I put him down for a while and told him to stay; turned around to reach out to something and it suddenly rolled away , and I just couldn't catch him!"

Mrs. Dolly asked the children why Mr. Watermelon would run away?

They answered:

*Maybe he turned into a real watermelon.
*He broke himself and fell down the stairs.
* He wanted to read books.
*He went to get his treasure.
* He rolled all the way to the beach.
* He rolled into the lunchroom and the cook found him and cooked him.
*He rolled and a car stepped on him.
*He took off his eyes, nose and mouth and it’s just rolling around.
* If he’s sleeping, we have to be quiet.
*We lost another person.
*Maybe he went home
*Maybe mr. Moniz is eating him.
*Maybe, he’s a person.
*Maybe, he wanted to say “ Hi! “ to other kids.
*He rolled to the playground.

We looked everywhere for him,

but couldn't find him!!

We found a clue that took us to the library ,

Ms. Hebbi said that she didn't see him but she found a clue on her desk.

We kept on looking but we couldn't find him.

We were all getting tired and we all decided to go back to our classroom.

There he was hiding in one of our centers!!!

Mrs.Dolly asked KGD what do you want to tell Mr.watermelon?

KGD Answered:

*Please don’t’ run from us because Ms. Cecilia was very, very worried about you.

*Please don’t do that because we are all family.

*I was worried that you’ll fall and hurt yourself.

*Don’t do that again.

*If you run away, he get’s lost, he would be crying.

*Don’t do this again for we might not find you again.

*Please don’t talk like that again ( referring to the way the clues were written) because that’s not being respectful.

*Maybe, he didn’t get a Shukran Splash, so he decided to roll away.

*Don’t ever do that again because I got sad about it.

*Please don’t do that again because I don’t want you crying.

*“ Thumbs down” ( signed)

*He might have gotten afraid of the print on my shirt (shows a partly eaten watermelon slice), so he ran away.

*Thanks for leaving us clues and please do not do that again.

*Mr. Watermelon, please don’t run away.

*Don’t ever speak like that to us again or else we’re going to send you to the principal.
