Stop the War Coalition

By: Will Westmoreland

Recently people have been drawing connections between the war in Iraq with the bombings in London. In fact, in a poll it's shown that 85 of the British believe that there is a link, which in turn has the English more prepared than ever to pull out of the war in Iraq.

This article calls for a change in Anglo-US foreign policy. Specifically the "failure to secure justice for the Palestinian people, the occupation of Afghanistan, the imprisonment for years without trial at Guantanamo Bay" as well as a few other issues with the US policies.

They go on to say that the problem of terrorism is not rooted in Muslim fanaticism, and that saying that is the same as saying George Bush is a "Christian fundamentalist". The truth is that neither of these are true, and that the problem of terrorism is neither because of Muslims, nor Islam.

These are some of the reasons the author is calling for a complete withdrawal of British troops from Iraq for many different reasons. Some of them being the 100,000 civilian deaths in Iraq since the occupation began, the economic and social dislocation, the fact that the reasons for the start of the war have been shown to be false and illegal in the first place, and also the 92 British soldiers killed since this all began.

Above are the reasons they are calling for a complete withdrawal of British troops by Christmas of this year. They say the bombings in London should not stop the efforts for this withdrawal, but that they should double the effort.
