Summary Statement for what happend when heat is added to water (Endothermic change) |
|
| When you add heat to water, the temperature will continue to rise until the water reaches the boiling point. At the boiling point, as heat is stilol added the temperature of the water will remain constant until all the water particles have turned into gas particles. All the energy that is put into the water at boiling is used to break the bonds of attraction, and change the phase into gas. This energy is called "Heat of Vaporization" | |
| Homework due for Sunday March 13 (periods A+B), or Monday March 14 (periods F,G +H) is to write a statement similar to the above, about what happens to the water when heat is taken out of the water (Exothermic change) | |
