DONALD BLOME (Chair) is Minister-Counselor for Economic and Political Affairs at the U.S. Embassy. As a diplomat, he has served throughout the region, including in Baghdad, Kuwait, Tunis, Riyadh and Amman. Prior to joining the U.S. State Department in 1993, Mr. Blome practiced law in his hometown of Chicago. In addition to undergraduate degrees in biology and English, he holds a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School. Don and his wife Debbie have three children attending CAC, one in Elementary School, one in Middle School, and one in High School. |

INEKE HODDER (Secretary) joined the Board in June 2010 as a Community Representative for the two- year term (2010-2012). Ineke has been involved in the many aspects of expat communities since becoming an expat in 1995 when the family moved to Taiwan for their first joint move overseas. She has served in various volunteer and elected positions in five different countries, in the schools her children attended, the business and social community as well as sporting and recreation organizations. Ineke and her husband Warren have three children attending CAC, one in High School and two in Middle School. |

MARTYN SMITH(Treasurer – Finance Committee Chair) is Vice President for Resources and Partner Operate Business for BP in Egypt. He moved to Egypt in March 2006 to take on his previous role of West Nile Delta gas development Projects Manager. Prior to arriving in Cairo, Martyn has had a varied career holding technical and managerial positions in Moscow, Azerbaijan, London, Aberdeen, Alaska, and Houston. With a background in Geophysics and Reservoir Engineering, he has extensive experience of oil & gas field related business, project management, business development and strategic planning. With his wife Jane (a teacher from a long line of teachers!) they have three children a girl and two boys aged 24, 23 and 22.

ELIZABETH BREDIN (Education Committee Chair) joined the Board in June 2010 as a Community Representative for the two-year term 2010-2012. Elizabeth has volunteered in many school communities, including in Tanzania, the Dominican Republic, and the US states of South Carolina and Virginia. In addition, she has served on the Board of Directors (elected) of the Museum Education Roundtable as an officer and committee member. Other volunteer activities have included: interpretive guide for the Fairfax County Park Authority (USA), the Smithsonian Institution, and the South Carolina State Aquarium; Assistant Cub-master/Den-master for two cub scout packs/dens; and numerous "Get Out the Vote" activities. Elizabeth and her husband John have three children attending CAC, one in High School, one in Middle school, and one in Elementary School.

CHRIS EVANS (Trustee Committee Chair) joined the Board in June 2011 as an elected Community Representative for the two-year term 2011-2013. Chris has, until this, year been in practice as a lawyer in London and holds a law degree from Cambridge University. He just completed 2 terms as a Board member of a Housing Charity in Notting Hill, London. Chris and his wife Katherine have a daughter attending CAC High School. |

JOHN HENDRIX (Facilities Committee Chair) joined the Board in June 2009 as the American Business Representative. Mr. Hendrix is the General Manager/ Managing Director of Qarun Petroleum Company for Apache Egypt Companies since 2006. He and his wife, Candace, have two children: Lauren who attends university in the US and Adam, a CAC alumnus class of 2010 also attending university in the US.

MAHA ELSHINNAWY joined the Board in June 2007 as the AUC representative. Dr. ElShinnawy is a Professor of Management in the School of Business, Economics, and Communication at the American University in Cairo. She and her husband Ahmed have three children, two in Elementary School and a CAC alumnus class of 2008.

NAVY CAPTAIN ROBIN WILKENING joined the Board in September 2010 as the representative of the U. S. Naval Medical Research Unit - 3 (NAMRU-3). Dr. Wilkening is the Commanding Officer of NAMRU-3 and is board certified in Occupational Medicine. She and her husband, Henry Massery, live in Maadi.
