Board News
Dear CAC Community,
It is with intense excitement that the Board announces the end of a Master Plan milestone and the beginning of another. The Board has voted on January 29th to award the construction contract for phase I (the building of the Elementary School and the renovation of the Administration building). This will allow the preparatory work for construction to commence in order for ground-breaking to start by summer of 2008. The Board would also like to inform you that an update to the Master Plan Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) has been posted on the website. Please check it out and let us know if you still have unanswered questions. You may direct any inquiries to board@cacegypt.org or jhollenbach@cacegypt.org. More updates will be released when new important information needs to be shared. Also, on January 29th, the Board has voted to increase the one-time only Registration Fee paid by new students to $7,000 effective 2008-09, and the implementation of an annual plant fund fee (not to exceed $500) for returning students effective 2009-10. Please refer to the January 22nd Open Session minutes, posted on the website (http://www.cacegypt.org/about/board.html), as this limited space does not allow for adequate coverage of the issues and the detailed explanations offered at the meetings. Minutes for the January 29th Open Session will be posted after their approval in the March Board meeting. Finally, I would like to express special thanks to the eleven Trustees (whose names appear below), our Superintendent Monica Greeley, Business Manager Larry Kraut, and Project Manager John Hollenbach for the countless hours they have invested in the process which led to all the decisions above. I would also like to thank the CAC Community who continues to support the Board with feedback, both positive and negative. You help us widen our scope of vision, narrow our focus, and thus serve you better. Please keep your input coming.
