Superintendent Search

 

Dear CAC Community,

The Board of Trustees is very pleased to inform the CAC Community that Dr. Rob Mockrish has accepted the offer to become our next superintendent. (Click here to download Rob's resume)

On behalf of the CAC community, the Board of Trustees would like to take this opportunity to express gratitude, appreciation and admiration for the hard work, diligence and commitment exhibited by the Superintendent Search Committee: Cindy Clarke (Chair- Trustee), Mary Marlowe (Trustee), Dolores Brown (Trustee), Seamus Marriott (ES Principal), Penny Riley (MS Faculty), Heba Farouk (HS Faculty), Nagwa Farid (Support Staff), Viveka Kumari (Parent), and Bill Thomas (Parent).

This highly dedicated group of people spent countless hours reading through twenty sets of cover letters, curriculum vitae, references, and supporting documents. They dedicated an entire weekend to conduct phone interviews and reference checks to come up with a short list of finalists. They met, sometimes twice in one day, to tend to an infinity of details. All of this was done in a month's time. And, most of them have full-time jobs.

Although the amount of work was paramount, the biggest challenge was the timeline. As most schools require their current superintendents to give notice of departure by October, Superintendent candidates must be hired before that date. To make a hard job harder, this year, 47 international schools are in the market to hire one of 35 available superintendents. The competition is fierce! In spite of it all, the Search Committee was able to 'lure' two of the most highly qualified candidates in the pool to our campus.

Scheduling not one, but two, candidates at a time to meet EVERYONE in the course of TWO days is Mission Impossible, made possible by the exceptional talents and hard work of Cindy, Mary, Viveka , Seamus and our Board Executive Assistant, Iman Bishara. Special thanks to them, and to PTO Chair, Elmare Maurin who was the spouses' escort.

Last, but not least, the CAC Board of Trustees thanks EVERYONE who participated in the process. Although we were in a win-win situation, the decision was extremely difficult to make. The cumulative input from students, parents, faculty, support staff, and the admin team became a decisive factor.
