Mission Statement

The Cairo American College Applied Science Program focuses on helping students develop basic scientific concepts, skills, and responsible attitudes for life-long living. The Applied Science Program encourages students to question and explore their world.

The Applied Science Program provides a flexible program that covers a range of topics and concepts, provides a basic understanding of scientific methods, supports the classroom teachers’ interests and enthusiasms, and connects with other studies such as math or social studies going on in the classroom.

The Applied Science Program provides a variety of learning experiences that promote students' understanding of Earth and space science, physical science, and the environment through active participation.

Based on their own interests, the age of the students, and other curricular choices, the classroom teachers select for the coming school year a variety of units of study in the physical sciences.
