Programs

ELIGIBILITY:                                                  

  • Students of C.A.C. and their immediate family members
  • Alumni of CAC & their Parents
  • Faculty, Support Staff, Administration, & Board Members
  • Non-Affiliate CAC ID Holders

CAC STUDENTS and FAMILY MEMBERS FREE!! Currently enrolled CAC students and their immediate family members are eligible to use the pool during recreational (open swim) hours, free of charge. To activate this privilege, a parent should complete and sign a membership form, available from the Pool Office. This membership is valid as long as the student attends CAC.

NOTE! Each family member must present his (her) CAC ID CARD at the pool window upon entering the pool facility.

PAYMENT OF FEES: Fees for pool membership, swim school classes, pool parties and house guests are charged in U.S. dollars or the official school rate equivalent in Egyptian LE. Payment is made to the school cashier located on the 4th floor of the CAC administration building

SCHOOL CASHIER’S HOURS: Open from 8AM-2PM and 3-3:30PM Sun.-Thurs. (school days only).

REMINDERS!
Be sure to review our Rules and Regulations with your children and remind them that these rules are to ensure their safety and comfort, as well as others.

Children 7 years & under or under 48 inches tall must be accompanied by a responsible member, 18 years or older.

••• AGE GROUP SWIM TEAM

The Fall Age Group Swim Team is a fun team for boys and girls, grades 1-12, focusing on the development and perfection of the four competitive strokes. No fees charged. Swim team is a season commitment from October 8-November 22, 2008.

••• CONDITIONING SWIMMING

Swimming for conditioning is a course designed for those who want to improve their cardiovascular fitness as well as lose weight and tone up. If you know how to swim but feel your technique can use some adjustment, or if you want to learn a new stroke, help is also provided for those areas.

EARLY MORNING CONDITIONING:
Every Sun., Tues., & Thurs. 5:00-6:30AM
Session I:
Begins Oct. 12-Nov. 9 Cost: $39 (13 classes)
Session II:
Begins Nov. 11- Dec. 16 Cost: $39 (11 classes)

                                                       

••• ADULT LEARN-TO-SWIM BEGINNER CLASS

Have you ever wished you knew how to swim, but never had the opportunity? Swimming is a sport you are never too old to master! Join this special step-by-step class and watch your confidence and skill level improve.

Every Saturday morning from 10-10:45AM
Begins: August 30-November 15

••• ADULT LEARN-TO-SWIM ADVANCED BEG. CLASS

For those beyond the floating stage, who need refining of skills for crawl stroke and would like more work on drown-proofing skills, backstroke, breaststroke.

••• INFANT/TODDLER & PRESCHOOL TODDLER

Intended to develop in young children (6mo-5 years) a comfort level in and around the water, as well as a readiness for learning to swim. It is important to understand that these classes are NOT designed to teach children to become accomplished swimmers or even to survive in the water on their own. The classes provide information and techniques for parents to orient their children to the water and to learn how to safely supervise all water activities.

••• LEARN-TO-SWIM CLASSES FOR CHILDREN LEVEL I, LEVEL II & LEVEL III 

These American Red Cross courses for children enhance water adjustment, swimming development and personal safety and rescue skills.

LEVEL I (KG-1st Graders)

LIFEGUARDING TODAY

This American Red Cross course provides the necessary minimum skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies.
Pre-Requisites:
1. Be 15 years of age on or before the final scheduled session of this course.
2. Swim 300 yards continuously using each of the following strokes in the following order: 100 yards front crawl using rhythmic breathing and a stabilizing, propellant kick; 100 yards of breaststroke using a pull, breathe, kick and glide sequence; 100 yards of either the front crawl or breaststroke. The 100 yards may be a combination of front crawl and breaststroke.
Note: There is no time requirement for this skill. The participant must show only that he or she can swim 300 yards using the above strokes without stopping. The purpose of the swim is to demonstrate comfort in the water.
3.
Starting in the water, swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10 pound object, return to the surface, swim 20 yards back to the starting point with the object and exit the water without using a ladder or steps, within 1 minute 40 seconds.

Class is every Tuesday 3:15-5:15pm during the month of September; Beginning Oct. 7th class is from 3:30-6:00pm.

Course Fee: $120
NOTE! CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Basic First Aid are required certificates to earn your Lifeguarding Today certification. The CPR course is held on Saturday Sept. 13th from 8AM-5PM. Basic First Aid is held on Tuesday Sept. 16th from 3:30-5:15PM. You must plan to attend both of these sessions if you wish to be a certified ARC Lifeguard.

••• POOL PARTIES!

 Host a Pool Party! Pool members are eligible to rent the pool for birthday parties and other special occasions. An area can be set-aside for food and beverages as well as serving tables, upon request. Lifeguards are provided for your safety. Reserve NOW, in person at the Pool Office, as available time is limited.

NOTE! All participants must be CAC ID holders.
