Parent Help
email from 02-26-2008
Dear Parents,
I’ll try to make this quick. Through discussions with parents and students of late, I’ve added/changed a couple of things both in class and on my webpage.
Your thoughts and ideas are very important to me. I am always available to address any concerns or questions you might have.
• I’ve added a link to the resources page. Sadly, the student guide is for Course I, but it has some good problems in it. Will Course II be added? Don’t know.
• Extra study sessions will take place Wednesday, Feb 27, at lunch and 3-4 in room 221. Our focus will be on tool kits. Extra time next week? If needed. I am free A, C, and E blocks as well as the breaks, lunch, before and after school.
• The “topic” line of my daily online homework page translates into “old school math”. My goal here is to help you help your kids. I’m working to make it more google friendly.
• The study guide for the quiz on March 5/6 and the Test on March 13/16 will have specific problems and comments on what must be included to score at maximum levels. I’ll be adding to it as we get to each topic.
• Low scores on the last test were due to overconfidence. Please help you child understand that studying happens even when “you know the material”.
Cheers,
Wayne Bramlett

Note prior to 2-26
Dear Parents,
What is a Tool Kit? Every "Investigation" ends with a section called "Summarize the Mathematics". These questions should be answered in a separate place and can be used during quizzes and tests. Students are encouraged to add to this special notes, rules, patterns, or examples
I am working aggressively on this section. Please note that you can go to the CPMP web site. It can be very helpful.
