Thanks to all parents who helped in the preparations of these special events for students, and there are so many of you.  A very special thank you goes to Melanie Nelson for planning and coordinating a tremendous and memorable prom and, to Lisa Ferguson, for organizing the highly entertaining and fun-filled after-prom. Your efforts are very much appreciated by all.

An Excellent Final MS/HS Band and Strings Spring Concert

Last Monday night, the MS/HS band and strings concert took place in the theater.  It was very well attended, and the quality of student music was absolutely breathtaking. Special thanks go to Mr. Robert Fedorak and Ms. Jenny Jeong for their musical direction and guidance with students.

Superb Senior Project Presentations

Last Wednesday, the seniors in the World Languages English classes presented their senior projects to the CAC community.  The new focus of these senior projects is with service learning, and the students involved were very enthused to share their experiences to help those less privileged.  Thanks to the students and all those parents who attended, and special thanks goes to Ms. Shannon Stringer for making the senior project program a success for students.

Student Dress Code

As the weather gets warmer, we are reminding students to wear clothing to school that is appropriate for our learning institution (modest and neat).  We have asked students to review the dress code guidelines on page 19 of the High School Student Parent Handbook and to wear proper attire to CAC.  Your parental help in this matter is greatly appreciated.

End-of-Year Obligations Procedure for Students

The end of the school year is approaching! To ensure that students complete all of their end-of-year obligations, we are asking you to remind your children that students must be fully responsible to return all textbooks and library books before the end of the school year; any lost books must be paid for by June 1, 2009.  If a student does not complete all end-of-year obligations, s/he will not receive a course schedule for next academic year and will not be permitted to attend classes on the first day of school in August until all items are either returned or paid for.  Thank you for your understanding and support with these end-of-year procedures.

Spring Athletic Awards Night – June 2

The Spring Athletic Awards Night will take place on Tuesday, June 2 starting at 7:00 p.m. in the theater.  This is the final athletic awards ceremony of the year, and it is a chance to celebrate and recognize the many athletic achievements that the students have earned in the spring season.  We hope you can attend this special ceremony.

Last Day of School – June 3

The last day of school for grades 9, 10, and 11 is Wednesday, June 3. Students will participate in a moving up assembly in the theater plus attending all classes.  It is a day to bring closure to a successful year, and student attendance is expected.  The day begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 11:30 a.m. when course schedules will be distributed for next year.

Graduation Ceremony – June 5

Graduation will take place on Friday, June 5 at 8:00 a.m. in front of the sphinx and pyramids in Giza, and we look forward to this event very much.  Seniors are currently being provided with invitations for this event, and further information will follow.
