High School

Welcome to the High School

I would like to offer a warm welcome to the entire high school community of Cairo American College as we enter the new school year. A special greeting goes out to the senior class, the class of 2008, as they enter the final year of their high school careers and also to our new ninth grade class, the class of 2011, as they embark on what is sure to be an exciting, challenging and fun-filled four years.  I would also like to welcome our seven new high school faculty members and our sixty plus new students.  To continue to grow as a great school is indeed a difficult challenge, and it is a challenge that can only be met with the help of the students, the parents, and the entire community.

Throughout the school year, parents are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to become involved in their child’s education.  We have an excellent and impressive faculty who are committed to meeting the school’s mission statement by challenging our students to “envision new possibilities, empower them to achieve their aspirations, and inspire them to serve a global community and contribute to a sustainable future.”

To be successful in meeting this mission, we need your support.  Please help your child by being an active participant in his or her education.  Throughout the year, maintain frequent contact with your child’s teachers and ensure that your son or daughter comes to school prepared and on time each day. When questions or problems arise, never hesitate to call or to drop by or attend one or more of the high school community forums.   Also, support your child by attending Back to School Night, by participating in our parent-teacher conferences, and by keeping up-to-date on important events by reading the weekly on-line Highro-Glyphics

To the students of CAC, we will work hard to make this an interesting and educationally challenging year for you. As a school, we have an excellent reputation for our high standards of instruction, student performance and co-curricular achievements.  Indeed, our academic expectations are high!  And while we will expect students to work hard and trust that they will take pride in doing their best, we hope that you remember that life at CAC is more than books and essays and that it is important to take the time to meet new friends, learn about a different culture, and become involved in service learning, our sustainability initiatives or one of the many co-curricular activities that the school offers.  By being an active participant in school life, each student will help to make CAC a dynamic and vibrant place to learn.

I look forward to seeing each of you over the next few weeks.  At any time, feel free to ask questions or to share your comments or concerns.  Your feedback is vital as we continue to make academic excellence at CAC our first priority.
