Eagle Eye 12-06-2018

Elementary Winter Celebrations
On December 20, the elementary students, faculty, staff, and parents will have a fun day of celebrations. Our students will meet in their homeroom classes from 7:55 am - 8:20 am and then they will make their way over to our combined middle school/elementary House event. Students are asked to wear their house shirt to school and parents are welcome to join us in the main gym for the opening. After the opening, students will work in their mixed grade level Houses to complete fun tasks. Our older students will be paying special attention to support our younger students at this event. Thanks to our house coordinators Mr. Greene & Ms. Tatiana.

After the combined house event our students will enjoy their packed snack and drink from home. Students will then have time to play together.

Following morning recess the elementary students will take time to think of others and give their time to support our Community Service Project, 2018.

CAC’s School’s Mission

CAC inspires all students to learn, explore and have fun.  We build character and motivate our students to positively contribute to their communities.

We Come From Many Places & We Have  A Lot To Give

                                                      (Excerpt from our school song)

We invite our school community to think of others at this time of the year by bringing to school some of the requested items below and placing them in the boxes outside the elementary office from December 9 - 19.  On December 20th all elementary students will give one hour of their time to arrange our donations. Thanks to Ms. Mariam, our Service Learning Coordinator, for her support. If your family is interested in supporting the delivery of our donations, please contact her via email at mhassan@cacegypt.org.

The Booster Club has arranged for a Christmas tree to be placed at the entrance of the school. We were invited to help decorate the tree. Each student will make their own decoration in Art class to hang on the tree in the coming weeks.

Pre-K Trip to Arty Science Farm

The children focused on the importance of animals (sheep, donkeys, cows, sheep, and goats) in Egypt culture. Our recent field trip to Arty Science Farm helped to bring this learning to life.

They saw rabbits, cows, goats, sheep, ducks, turkeys and geese.  The children also studied the most important plants found in Egypt.

They planted tomato and cabbage seedlings and picked ripe kumquats from the tree.

It was a wonderful experience for the children to spend time on a working farm in the midst of a beautiful natural habitat.

Grade 2 Field Trip to Fagnoon

Grade 2 students went to Fagnoon Art School. They experienced many crafts of Egypt, including making pots on pottery wheels, weaving on Bedouin looms, and baking bread. The trip gave them an opportunity to enjoy time in the countryside while finding out about farmer's crops and animals. It was also a great opportunity to practice their Arabic language.

After School Activities

Our First week was excellent! Thank you to all the parents who shared the ASA schedules with their children. Almost all students knew where to go.

Starting next week(Dec. 9), students in grades 1-5 will be going to their ASAs independently. KG Students will always be picked up from their classes. Please remind your child to come to the ES Activities office (located next to Greco) if they are not sure where to go.

Students must attend their activities. If they miss 2 unexcused ASA classes without prior notification(Parent submitting the ASA Attendance Form), they may risk being removed from that activity and parents will be notified. They may not join other activities in the same session. If your child will miss an ASA class for any reason, or is not interested anymore, please submit this form > ASA Attendance Form. We need to know that information as soon as possible so we can enroll other students who are in the waiting lists.

Waiting lists will expire by January 17th.

To know more about ASA Attendance, please click here >Attendance & Commitment

Check the new ASA Board!

We now have a new information board by the ASA office.

It will always be updated with photos and reminders to support the students with ASA information.

Take a Seat

'Tis the Season to be Giving! And what better way to give than to commemorate someone special on a theatre seat name plate?

Dedicate a plaque to your student(s), family, or even a favorite teacher.

Name plates live on in perpetuity and years from now, when alumni return, their name plates will bring back many memories.

Scan the QR code to fill out your order in time for the holidays.

CAC Holiday Tree

Days are getting shorter, the nights are longer and there is that unmistakable chill in the air. The season of giving is upon us! As Eagles “we come from many places, and we have a lot to give”, so Booster Club is inviting everyone to get into the spirit of the season!

Help decorate the CAC Christmas Tree that will be up beginning Sunday, Dec. 9. Bring an ornament (ES students will make their ornaments in Art Class) that represents you or where you come from, maximum 10 cm diameter, and hang it on the tree. Parents, bring your ornament and join us on Sunday right after drop off at 8:00 am to kick start decorating the tree. Students and CAC staff, please watch for announcements of when your group is scheduled to go.

There will be two collection boxes by the tree, one for donations of new school and art supplies, and another for donations of new socks. Your generosity will go a long way in putting smiles on children’s faces. Drop your gifts (unwrapped) in these boxes beginning Wednesday, Dec. 12 until Dec.19.

Let’s come together as a community to help spread goodwill within and beyond our CAC walls!

Happy holidays to all!
