Community Events Coming Up!

Several great community events coming up in the next few, busy weeks. We hope you and your family will come out and support our Student Council and our PTO. Each of these events contributes to the very special community feel that makes CAC stand out among international schools. Soak it up!

StuCo Family Movie Night--Tonight, and STILL ON!

Join us TONIGHT for a festive winter themed family movie night packed with fun activities and treats! Make sure to bring blankets and a picnic dinner. Children must be supervised.  ---Sincerely,  HS Exec StuCo

Update: In light of the wet ground after yesterday’s ran, food & games will still be outside from 3:30-5:00.  The movie will move indoors to the MS Hall and will start at 5pm.

PTO Book Fair Next Week!

The next big PTO event is the Book Fair.  Running next week, from Sun-Thurs, the Book fair will be open from 7:30am-6:00pm Mon-Wed, and on Thurs from  7:30am-7:00pm. It includes 7 book vendors, a special visit by Alumni author Dina El Abd, the Spirit Cafe serving warm food, a student bookmark contest, live music, origami, and other crafts.  All students may enter the bookmark contest. See your school library for details! We will also hold a holiday market on the last day.

In conjunction, PTO is having a charity book donation drive! Any new or gently used books would be greatly appreciated! Watch for the book box near the main CAC gate.

To volunteer or for questions, email Andi Simiskey at simiskey1@aol.com or Yara Tatanaki at yaratatanaki@gmail.com.

'Tis the Season to be Giving! and what better way to give than to commemorate someone special on a theatre seat name plate? Dedicate a plaque to your student(s), family, or even a favorite teacher. Name plates live on in perpetuity and years from now, when alumni return, their name plates will bring back many memories. Scan the QR code to fill out your order in time for the holidays.

Website News: Calendar Move

CAC has moved the detail calendar where we share activities into the parents dashboard. You can access it there after you log into your account. The CAC School Calendar (holidays and days school is in session) is still on the website under the About US section.

League Latest

The CAC Board of Trustees will be voting in the coming days on an Admin recommendation for CAC’s path forward and future league alignment. The CAC Administration thanks all parents, students, faculty and alumni who have provided input during this difficult and unexpected transition for CAC. We are all aware of CAC’s rich, passion-filled sports history and of how critical it is that we make the ‘right move’ in aligning ourselves with a strong future league. We are faced with imperfect options, but feel we’ve identified the best path forward for the school. We look forward to making the official announcement next week following the Board’s final decision.

More substantial food offerings will be for sale the first and final day of the fair, and we will remain open until 7pm on Thursday 13 Dec.

CAC Holiday Tree

Days are getting shorter, the nights are longer and there is that unmistakable chill in the air. The season of giving is upon us! As Eagles “we come from many places, and we have a lot to give”, so Booster Club is inviting everyone to get into the spirit of the season!

Help decorate the CAC Christmas Tree that will be up beginning Sunday, Dec. 9. Bring an ornament (ES students will make their ornaments in Art Class) that represents you or where you come from, maximum 10cm diameter, and hang it on the tree. Parents, bring your ornament and join us on Sunday right after drop off at 8am to kick start decorating the tree. Students and CAC staff, please watch  for announcements of when your group is scheduled to go.

There will be two collection boxes by the tree, one for donations of new school and art supplies, and another for donations of new socks. Your generosity will go a long way in putting smiles on children’s faces. Drop your gifts (unwrapped) in these boxes beginning Wednesday, Dec. 12 until Dec.19.

Let’s come together as a community to help spread goodwill within and beyond our CAC walls! Happy holidays to all!
