Eagle Eye 12-20-2018

We wish you all happy holidays and peace in the new year! Students wrapped up units and celebrated their learning this week. Middle School joined us for a House Team event Thursday. Students in PreK-Grade 8 rotated through activities, and had a great time together.

We had the joy of winter celebration parties together and students entertained us at the Winter Assembly. Lovely to see so many parents at the assembly, cheering our grade level singers along. Santa Claus riding in on his camel into CAC was a special delight for us all. Thank you to the many parents who helped out this week and throughout the year so far!

School resumes January 13. After-school activities will also resume that day.

We wish those students and their families who are moving away from Egypt well. You’ll be missed! We will be welcoming several new students when we return, and know that you will all do your best to make them feel at home.

 After School Activities

Activities will resume right after we come back from the winter break on
January 13.

Please work with your child on an ASA Schedule paper that they can put in their bags to remember where to go when they come back from the holiday.

If your child will miss an ASA class for any reason, or is not interested anymore, please submit this form > ASA Attendance Form. We need to know that information as soon as possible so we can enroll other students who are in the waiting lists.

Waiting lists will expire by January 20th.

Check the new ASA Board!

We now have a new information board by the ASA office.

It will always be updated with photos and reminders to support the students with ASA information.

NaNoWriMo Update

My Child Wrote a Novel! Now What?

By the end of November our budding authors in G3, G4 and G5 had written a combined total of 365,522 words for the NaNoWriMo challenge! Many of our students are keen to publish their novels and all should now have brought home an information sheet about the next steps in the publishing process. You can also access an electronic copy of that document at the link below.

After the break, there will be a parent workshop which will focus on the publishing process in more detail and provide guidance for parents who wish to help their child through the process. If possible, please bring an internet-enabled device to the session.

Can you help Grade 1?

Dear parents, we are getting ready to start a new Science unit in January, and we will be needing 20 adult-size shoe boxes or any box that can be completely closed and is about that size. If during the holidays you come across any, please save them for us and send them to school upon our return from the break. We will post in our blog when we have collected enough, until then, please send keep sending them our way. We will be using them the last week of January.

Take a Seat

'Tis the Season to be Giving! And what better way to give than to commemorate someone special on a theatre seat name plate?

Dedicate a plaque to your student(s), family, or even a favorite teacher.

Name plates live on in perpetuity and years from now, when alumni return, their name plates will bring back many memories.

Scan the QR code to fill out your order in time for the holidays.
