Director's Note
Each production is a new journey for everyone involved, and there is always the questions as to whether everyone will survive! We lost a few along the way, but the survivors have worked hard as a team over the last 10 weeks, and have juggled rehearsals with sporting commitments, MUN, school trips, illness, doctor's appointments and parties! A huge thanks for all of them for their time, commitment and sacrifices.
As a director it has been a joy to see the Middle and High school students working together (most of the time!), learning from each other, respecting each other's contributions and all striving for the same goal - the best show we can put on. The crew, chamber singer and band outnumber the cast, and their hard work has been essential for this show to succeed.
Thank you all for your patience during the sound checks, and for the application of everything you have learned to enable this show to happen. Commitment is the key to success in the Arts, and everyone in this show has learnt how much they can commit and how crucial their contribution is to the success of the whole.
Everyone in 'Blood Brothers' cares about what they do. Students have: asked whether we should put sugar in the cold tea (whiskey) to make it nicer for the cast to drink; bought costume items from their trips abroad; bought police helmets from London; watched previous productions of the show to research their characters, and continually built on ideas for their delivery of lines and development of character movement and blocking.
It has been wonderful to work with this entire company, to create a production of truly combined Arts and skills. I hope they feel great fulfillment and success from the experience. So, the show is about to commence, can someone get Moh from the track?
