IB Theatre Night
Forum theatre is a type of theatre introduced by Brazilian Theatre practitioner, Augusto Boal, to address issues of burning social importance. A social issue is identified, characters are chosen and then a script is written. The issue is then presented to an audience. Once the issue has been raised in the scene the scene is run again, but this time the audience can take the place of the protagonist, as 'spect-actors' and try to change the outcome of events, and therefore find a solution to the social problem.
