Performing Arts Department

Department Philosophy

The need for aesthetic experiences is basic to human life.  Every child has a right to develop his or her aesthetic potential to the fullest, and education in the Arts should be available at all levels.  The performing arts are part of the culture of all societies. Dance, drama and music transmit the culture of past generations to the present generation and contribute to the development of the culture by giving it meaning.

We believe a Performing Arts education is at the center of the academic curriculum.  Each student must be provided the opportunity to acquire the necessary skills, self-knowledge, creativity and aesthetic awareness which allow him or her to become a complete person, both professionally and vocationally. The Performing Arts are necessary to this development.
