Dear CAC Community, Cairo American College continues celebrating Sixty Years of Serving Children, thanks to your involvement and support. I write to share information regarding recent, current, and upcoming activity – and to encourage you to attend the festivities planned for March 17 and 18. Recent activity: On December 21, the 60th anniversary committee hosted an alumni gathering in the CAC library. Alumni – many of whom now live abroad – and faculty enjoyed the chance to reconnect with their CAC friends and to reminisce over old yearbooks. Those of you who attended the faculty/staff musical on January 27 viewed a slideshow of images of CAC’s past and present. This was created in celebration of CAC’s 60th anniversary, thanks to the vision and talent of Nada Kaysi and Cheryl Bohn. Current activity: Information can be found at our special bulletin board (located under the 60th anniversary banner, in front of the CAC Health Office) and from the CAC website (http://www.cacegypt.org/sixty/index.htm). Memorabilia, including commemorative t-shirts, key chains, pendants, and cufflinks are now available for purchase at the CAC School Store. Note cards showcasing student art and CAC polo shirts will be available in March as well. A series of collage panels reflecting each decade of CAC’s life can be seen in the Library loft. Upcoming activity: Tickets for the March 17 Gala Dinner at Mena House will be available for purchase as of Tuesday, February 21, from the Activities Office, located on the top floor of the High School. They will also be available after school on February 21 and 22 at a table outside the Health Office. Tickets for this formal event are LE 400, and tables are organized in groups of ten. Tickets for the March 18 on-campus birthday bash will be available at no cost on a first-come, first-served basis starting March 5.
