HS Science Students Design & Build a Sustainable, Clean Future

Dear CAC community members,

What & Where:

The CAC Green team is sponsoring a solar powered remote control car race which will be held on March 18th, from 1:00-2:00 P.M. to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of our school. YOU are invited to attend! Nine Grade Integrated Science students have designed and built solar powered remote control vehicles to be raced on the CAC track. BP Solar and Middle East Engineering & Telecommunications (MEET) will present three awards to the teams with the fastest car, best design, and highest sponsorship.

The Solar Car project is an excellent opportunity to combine the learning of scientific, social and ethical principles in an atmosphere of fun and excitement.

Some major benefits of the Solar Car Project are:

• Promote the use of renewable energy among CAC community
• Model the use of Sustainable Education embedded in the curriculum.
• Generate enthusiasm for science and engineering at a crucial stage in the educational development of young people.
• Improve students' understanding of scientific concepts and renewable energy technologies.

Please come and show your support for the students who have worked hard to investigate the influence of this type of transportation on social and economic patterns, learn about the impact of energy use on the environment and build solar car models!
