Un Ano Nuevo en Espanol V

Hi. My name is Kathleen and this year I'm taking a higher level spanish class in a school called Cairo American College. This is my webfolio for this year of Spanish 5. Below I have included links of texts that we have completed so far. The first one was an assignment concerning the environmental problems in South America. It's very short but of great quality, if I don't say so myself. The second text was one of the many summaries that we've had on literature. There is a link below the caption explaining the assignment that will allow you to read the excerpt yourself. The last and final link is, as the explanation says, a bonus assignment that we did near the beginning of the year. I will say no more about the texts. So please sit back, read and enjoy.

*NOTE: All texts that are related to this web page are in Spanish. Also the large picture to the right is of my whole Spanish class.

Please click here to view the text that was written on the topic of the forest and the environment in South America. The topic of environment and the current environmental issues in South America are very important. The animals and the whole ecosystem are thrown out of balance as the home of several thousands of creatures is rapidly disappearing. The humans, who seem to have forgotten that the animals were here first, have been using and abusing all of the products that Mother Nature provides for them. My task was to ellaborate upon an article that was given to me in classand to speak about how Mankind has caused the extinction of many species and is not ceasing to destroy the planet.
"Clandestino en Chile" is a narrative and biographical text written by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. The content talks about an adventure of a film producer who was visiting his homeland of Chile. It takes place in the time of the dictatorial leader Pinochet. At this point in history, producers and filmographers were not allowed to carry any information on the happenings in Chile. Miguel Littin is the person this story was written about. While he was in the train station, his luggage opened and all of the cigar cartons that he had kept his information on, tumbled out. The rest of the story can be read next to this caption.

The document that can be accesed through the link on the top of the painting is an assortments of information on certain aspects of the Spanish world. It was one of the first assignment that we completed. A bonus that was mandatory for my classmates and me to accomplish. There is information on actors, celebrations and tradicions that all exist in the spanish speaking world. There is even some writing on differents newspapers that all come from Spain, but are written in different dialects and, in one case, a different language.

Here are links that connect to websites with information on Spanish art, culture, people, etc.
