DIRECTOR'S NOTES

LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS is a satirical black comedy, a modern morality play, about what happens when you sell your soul to the devil. While still a lively musical rock and roll romp, the play satirizes the Faust legend, B Grade Science Fiction movies, and the values of the American Dream as it then was. Our cast of 13 carries this delightful play and will bring a smile to your lips and lighten your spirits and send you home thinking and humming the music.

SYNOPSIS

It is the story of Seymour Krelbourn, a meek Skid Row flower shop assistant who makes a Faustian pact with a tiny plant in order to win the heart of Audrey, the girl he loves. While we notice the romance slowly blooming between them, Mushnik the florist quickly recognizes the moneymaking potential of the exotic little plant. Soon money pours in and Seymour becomes a celebrity, but behind the glamour and fame lies a secret Seymour can't reveal; the strange and unusual plant's favorite food is blood. As the plant grows, it's demand for food grows too, and Seymour starts to suspect that the plant might have an agenda larger than light and soil.
