March 29, 2020
Dear CAC Community,
I hope you and your loved ones have enjoyed a restful, safe and healthy Spring Break. I also hope that you are prioritizing your physical health and your mental and emotional wellbeing during this unprecedented period of time. Tomorrow will be our first day back to school as our students reengage in their academic life through e-learning. The CAC School board also continues its work through virtual means. Our usual March board meeting will take place virtually tomorrow at 6:00 pm and will continue past the government instated 7:00 pm curfew. Given the current circumstances, we will not be able to have an open community segment for our meeting. I encourage community members to email firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or comments pertaining to the meeting minutes, which will be made available online as customary.
As highlighted by Dr. Jared Harris in his recent newsletter, it is understandably difficult to transition to discussions related to upcoming events at CAC given the current circumstances. However, it is important to ensure that CAC Board work continues despite these uncertain times. As Board Chair, I would like to inform you that we will go ahead with our CAC Board election process as planned, although we will shift to virtual meetings to maintain physical distance.
As you might be aware, the CAC community elects two community representatives each year in the spring. CAC parents and guardians who are not employed by CAC and who are not relatives of CAC employees are eligible to apply for a two-year terms for the academic school years 2020 - 2022.
I encourage eligible and interested community members to get in touch with the Board Election Committee comprised of Trustees: Ursula Hammerich email@example.com and Marwan Ziwar firstname.lastname@example.org to provide you with more insight about the roles, responsibilities and duties of trusteeship. Please send an email to email@example.com if you are interested in receiving a copy of the ‘Community Representative Election Packet,’ which contains the Candidate Application Form and detailed information regarding the election process.
The Candidate Application Form is due by April 6th at 3:00 pm and should be submitted via email to firstname.lastname@example.org including a personal statement and picture. Candidate pictures and statements will be available to the community online on April 7th. A virtual ‘Meet the Candidate Session’ will be held on April 21st wherein each candidate will be allotted five minutes to introduce themselves to the CAC community. Candidate speeches and electronic ballots will be sent to all parents via email, with online voting taking place April 21st through the 28th. Final confirmed election results will be announced on April 28th at 5:00 pm.
The Board of Trustees looks forward to your active engagement in the CAC election process.
With my warmest regards,
CAC Board Chair
