Art Show Opening

Start your weekend with a bit of Art and Culture! CAC celebrates tonight the work of its IB Art students. For two years, IB Art students in both Standard and Higher level have been creating their portfolios to document their growth and development as artists. These portfolios display the individual interests, passions, and explorations of each artist as she/he has grown through the demands and requirements of a rigorous curriculum. The artwork will be on display in the Theater Foyer, with the opening tonight at 5pm.

International Festival Friday!

Come on out and enjoy the fun, food, music, costumes at this great annual celebration of our diverse and wonderful school community!

Congratulations to our Board of Trustees Election Winners

Congratulations to Ken Oldham and Tarek Zaghloul, who were elected by the parent body to the CAC Board of Trustees for the 2018-19 and 2019-20 school years. Thank you to Joe Stephen and Chris Dermody for running, demonstrating CAC’s Core Value of courage.

Special thanks to Chris Dermody for his four years of service to the CAC Board of Trustees, including this past year as Board Treasurer. Chris has put in many hours of service to the Board and school, and his knowledge, experience, and wisdom will be missed on the Board.

ISST Accomplishments: Swimming Gold, Basketball Bronze!

20 junior and varsity swimmers traveled to Dordrecht in the Netherlands to represent CAC at last week’s ISST Swim Meet. 20 schools were represented at the meet.  Every CAC Swimmer came back to Cairo having contributed points to CAC's dominant overall team title. All 20 swimmers scored, all 20 swimmers swam best times! An incredible effort and a true tribute to excellent coaching, as these CAC athletes  ‘peaked at just the right moment’.

In addition to the overall title, the Junior Girls, Junior Boys and the Varsity Boys were crowned team champions!

CAC won 6 of the 8 relay titles, four of these in CAC school record times and one of them (Junior Boys 200 Free Relay) in a new ISST record time. CAC finished with 21 top 3 finishes, highlighted by 2 victories for Young Jin along with 1 for Ahmed plus the 6 relay titles. Individually, Leena, Ellie and Ahmed set new CAC school records. Amazing job CAC swimmers! Way to write your own history!

(Cool in the Pool--CAC Screaming Eagles celebrate an amazing meet)

Also in Holland, the CAC Girls’ Varsity Basketball team competed in the ISST Division II Tournament, coming away with a well-earned Bronze medal. Led by Alethe and Maylis, who were both named to the All Tournament team, the girls saw tremendous growth from all players. In the final--bronze medal game--the teams’ three top scorers fouled out with four minutes to play. In a tight contest, up by three points, 10th grader Eman hit an absolutely amazing shot to put the game out of reach and secure the victory. CAC won 46-40, capping a great season with success, smiles, and a medal to bring home to Cairo

Come Enjoy the Musical Show!
