PRINCIPAL'S WELCOME

Dear Parents,

Thank you for reading this week’s edition of the Middle School News and Views. It is a short week with a three -day weekend for families. We hope you take this opportunity to spend some quality time with loved ones relaxing.

Our Trimester Two Report Cards will be available for your viewing today via Skyward at 3:00 pm.These reports will include important information related to your child’s learning traits and academic achievement. Parents can log into our online reporting system, SKYWARD to access the reports. Detailed instructions regarding how to access report cards will be emailed to parents on Sunday. Please let us know if you have any questions or if we can be of any assistance to you. You can also send an email to felduweini@g-cacegypt.org if you need any technical assistance. We hope that you will find these reports to be informative and we encourage you to open up a dialogue with your children about their learning. While we know the grades are important “symbols of learning,” we believe that the essential conversations that take place between students and parents should be focused on “what did you learn?” and not “what did you earn?” Do take the time to talk with your children about their learning experiences in their classes.

Please focus your attention on the Learning Traits that we report on separately from academic achievement. We firmly believe in developing these learning traits as there is a direct correlation between these and academic success.

Our Parent/Teacher Conferences are coming up soon taking place on Tuesday, March 13th from 2:00 - 5:00 pm and a full day session on Wednesday, March 14th from 7:45 am – 4:10 pm.

On Tuesday, March 13th we will have a drop-in session that will begin at 2:00 pm and will end at 5:00 pm. Each parent will get five minutes with the teacher. Please keep in mind that you will have to sign-in on the board outside the classroom and parents will be seen in the order they arrived. We expect that your son/daughter attends the conference with you on both days.

There will be no school for Middle School students on Wednesday, March 14th, but we do ask parents who have booked conferences to bring their child with them to the conference.

We will roll out the laptop to the sixth graders on Sunday March 11.  However before, the tech department will be uploading software to help the students to stay on task while using the machine.

Thank you for your continuous support of the Middle School.

In Partnership,
Courtney Bailey

Middle School Principal

How certain foods may be at the core of your chronic fatigue

March 21, 8:00 am - 9:00 am in Grade 1 Common Room

Dana Dinnawi is a holistic health coach and wellness coach, and editor and publisher of Empowered Wellness and Living Magazine.

She is passionate about showing strong, smart, independent women how to take back control of their lives . . . from what they eat and how they look, to what they do and how they feel.

She helps them break out of the cycle of yo-yo dieting so they can shed the last stubborn kilos, get rid of sugar cravings and learn how to eat for life so they can regain their energy and self-confidence to refocus on themselves and create a guilt-free lifestyle that fills them up daily.

Lost and Found

Part of educating students at CAC is encouraging independence through increasing responsible behaviors. We constantly encourage students to label their items so that they are easily identified and returned back to the owner. It is also important that students know what to do when they lose any of their items.

Here is what we advise students to do when they report a lost item:

1- Look everywhere (lost & found table/class/playground/inside backpacks/home ,etc,...)
2- Ask Others (friends/teachers/parents/siblings,etc,..)
3-Ask parents to report to the lost and found link. Upper grade students can do this too.
4- Use the same link to report when item is found.

In order to support our students and community members with the above process, we created the below Lost and Found link to help us track of lost and found items.
