PRINCIPAL'S WELCOME

Dear Parents,

Thank you for reading this week’s edition of the News and Views. We have had a great final week of learning and fun and now look forward to resting and relaxing during our three weeks holiday. We were fortunate to have Dr. Farouk El-Baz on campus on Monday speaking to our grade six students during Science. Our students were thrilled and came away feeling excited to learn from an Egyptian –American Space Scientist who worked with NASA to assist in the planning of scientific exploration of the Moon, including the selection of landing sites for the Apollo Missions

Our Grade eight students went on a field trip to the Geology Museum on Wednesday. This trip was a great opportunity for our students to study outside of the traditional classroom setting and further enrich their learning. The photos below "speak a thousand words."

We finished our week with a House Field Day event that provided students and teachers with fun filled experiences throughout the day. In the morning the Elementary students joined the Middle school students for a variety of friendly events, such as basketball and soccer shootouts, relays, the hungry hippo game, and Elf train. In the afternoon the Middle school students watched the movie “Elf.” The pictures in this week’s News and Views will provide a peek into the fun our students have had during best the day’s events. Special thanks to all of the students and teachers for their enthusiastic participation, our student House Captains for their leadership, and the primary organizers of the day: Ms. Petrovna, and Ms. Ennis. To all teachers who ran an event and helped with supporting a house, a huge Thank you!

In Partnership,

Courtney
