Dear Parents,

Thank you for reading this week’s edition of the Middle School News and Views.  Last Thursday was our first Middle School Social, and it was a fun time for all the students in attendance. We had yet another fantastic week full of teaching and learning in Middle School.

In Physical Education students are wrapping up the project adventure unit, while in 6th grade Language Arts students are working in the workshop model. Since the majority of our students have experienced the readers/writers workshop model in Elementary School it is about getting the routines down and an emphasis on the ATLs.

Students in MS Stagecraft were very engaged in learning about applying stage makeup this week. In fact, some students will be designing and assisting in the make-up for the ES musical Shrek Jr. coming to CAC this November! Students are having fun, which is a vital part of the CAC mission.

In design technology, the students visited the KG classrooms in the elementary school and found out what they would need. They are now working in small groups on building the following items for KG: a closet, a car, a theater, a grocery store, a stage, and a kitchen. The prototype is being built with a 3D model to get the right specifications first before making the real thing. It is incredible to see our students doing something for someone else knowing without waiting for anything else in return.

With Prime Trips fast approaching, our teachers are trying to do their best to get everything organized. However, we do need your support in making this possible.  A gentle reminder that the deadline for medical forms is today.  If you haven’t turned in all medical forms for the Prime trips yet, we would like you to do so by Sunday, September 30 at the very latest. As stated in previous communications, we want to emphasize that if the medical form is not submitted by the student, the student will not be able to join the Prime Trip.

In Partnership,
Courtney Bailey

 Skyward Directory

Dear CAC Parents,

This year, due to the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), we will no longer print and distribute a hard copy of the CAC Family Directory. We will, however, be making family contact information available through our Student Information System, Skyward. The Skyward directory has some great features: you can search for families by homeroom or by grade level. You can choose which contact information you wish to include and you can print your search results. However, each family which agrees, needs to “opt-in” to the directory; in other words, families need to verify that they would like to make their contact information available to other CAC families. If you choose not to opt-in, your contact details will not be listed in the Skyward directory.

To opt-in to the directory, please log into Skyward Family Access and follow the instructions found through THIS LINK.
