Peace Day Thursday--Wear White

CAC will recognize International Peace Day on Thursday, Sept 20th. We ask that all students and faculty wear white shirts. We will open the day with a short PreK-12 Assembly in the gym to recognize this important United Nations-created day of recognition.

CAC Holds First Security Drill

CAC held its first security drill of the year when we had a fire drill on Monday. All students, staff and faculty participated as we evacuated all buildings and gathered in class groups on our lawns. The drill was successful and allows us to fine tune our processes and infrastructure, as well as allowing students to practice important safety procedures in a controlled setting. Through the course of the year, we will have other drills as well, including a ‘lock down’ drill for shelter in place, and ‘hardened shelter’ drill for moving all students and personnel into hardened rooms. We appreciate the assistance of the US Embassy in evaluating our drills.

Please Use Your IDs!!!

As we work to get ‘back in the swing’ of things at school, we are working hard with students to have them remember to have and to use their ID cards. The ID cards are an important component of our overall campus safety program. It would be lovely if parents were to support this by always remembering and using their ID cards to buzz in and out of campus. Thank you!

HS Principal Search Announcement

It gives me great pleasure to announce that Mr. Jerry Duggan has been selected--and has agreed to serve--as CAC's next High School Principal. Congratulations, Jerry.

CAC conducted a  world-wide search via International Schools Services,. A committee, which included two HS Teachers, interviewed a diverse pool of candidates from Venezuela, Namibia, the US, Dubai, Brazil. For many reasons, in particular his strength of character, leadership ability, and understanding of the CAC culture, the decision was made that Jerry would be best for CAC at this time and going forward.

Jerry will take over the role of HS Principal, officially, from July 1, 2019. In this year of much transition, Jerry has the opportunity to work with Dr. Harris to more fully understand all that goes in to making CAC's High School such a special place.

We will soon make an announcement about our search for Jerry's replacement for Assistant HS Principal.
