CAC STUDENT-ATHLETE STORIES

American School Student AthelteWe sat down with another inspiring CAC senior, Zoe Pav. Zoe, who is originally American,  has been with us in the school for three years now. When asked about her time at CAC and what she thinks makes the school so distinct from other International Schools she has been to, she explained that it is the support and encouragement she receives from her teachers to not only focus on academics, but to also focus on athletics and extracurricular activities as well.

CAC has always had a reputation for having the toughest and most advanced sports teams among other international schools. As per the school’s focus on the ‘Whole Child’ learning approach, CAC makes sure that there is enough flexibility for the students to engage in extracurricular activities, and greatly encourages their participation.

Zoe is a great example of an active student athlete. She was selected this year to be the Varsity Girls Volleyball captain. The 17-Year old said that while the school has a very rigorous academic program, the timing of the practices and games has been very convenient in allowing them to balance between athletics and academics.

Zoe’s father, who is also a teacher at the school, coaches volleyball as well. This has been another motivating factor for her to further develop her passion for Volleyball. Zoe explained to us that she can see and feel the impact of being a part of CAC, noting; “ One of the first things they look at before the game is the academic GPA. If it isn’t good enough, we do not get game time. This means that we have to learn to balance academics with athletics, which might be challenging but in the end is a great thing.”

At CAC, we believe that students need to learn to balance their daily lives from a very young age, which is why we support our students in working hard and still learning to relax, and have fun, while developing different skills.
