Dance and Technology-From Music Videos to Youtube Sensations (Trimester 3)

In this course we will be combining the beats and moves from a variety of music videos and Youtube dance sensations into our own creation. We will learn fundamentals of movement styles that incorporate Hiphop, Contemporary, Free-styling, and Improvisation. We will work on a variety of choreography to eventually create our own Music Videos and Youtube creations. The students will work collaboratively to develop something that has their own personal touch but is drawing from inspirations in their daily lives. We will utilize different areas around campus to create scenes for our short videos/films and work with iMovie to create them. We will explore how movement can transfer to the screen and how we can use editing, sound, camera movement, and the environment to create our own unique Dance and Video projects.
