From The Lunch Committee New Lunch Vendors for the ES Cafeteria As most of you may know, the bid for the New vendors for the ES cafeteria is coming up! Our contract with Good Cals; the current ES cafeteria vendor, is coming to an end this year and we have a fantastic line up of new and exciting vendors that will come from March 26- 30th to serve lunch to all of the ES children. Each day of that week, one vendor will be providing lunch for the kids (Menus below), and we as a committee will be there everyday! However our children’s opinions matter most, so we want them to be involved and try out the different meals
If you would like your child to participate in having lunch from these new vendors then kindly sign them up via the link below along with enclosing 35LE per day in a sealed envelope with your child’s name and class code, and send it to the elementary office no later than Sunday the 19th of March.
*IMPORTANT: Please note that the current lunch cards will NOT be valid for the week of March 26-30, so if your child usually has a hot lunch, please make sure to sign them up and send in the money by Sunday March 19th L.E 35 per day. Please enclose the total amount for the week in the envelope.

Counseling Corner Positive Discipline
Positive Discipline is a program developed by Dr. Jane Nelsen. It is designed to teach children how to become more responsible, respectful and resourceful. While the name Positive Discipline sounds like it would be about punishments, it is actually designed to teach important social and life skills in a way that is encouraging for both children and adults. Think back on your childhood and the feelings that you had when you made a mistake. Did you feel bad about yourself or did you feel like you were learning? Mistakes are opportunities to learn and the message that we give to kids when they make mistakes can help them to move forward or get stuck in feelings of inadequacies. For more information about mistakes and positive discipline click on the link.
Core Value This month's core value is perseverance. The definition of perseverance in the elementary school is to never give up and to work toward your goals. One way that you can expand your child's understanding of perseverance is to share with them a time that you persevered in order to succeed.
From the Music Department Dear parents/guardians of Second and Third Grade students,
Please, take the opportunity to enjoy some of the pieces your child has been working on during music this year and attend his/her upcoming concert. Two programs will be presented in the CAC Theater:
Wednesday, March 29 at 10:00 a.m. Both Second and Third Grade classes will perform for students and teachers.
Wednesday, March 29 at 5:30 p.m. Both Second and Third Grade classes will perform for family and friends. Students should be in place by 5:20 p.m.
Your child will be expected to attend both the morning and the evening concerts due to special instrument, singing, and movement assignments. Also, this is when your child’s behavior and participation are evaluated in a concert setting.
As this is a very special event, please be sure your child is dressed appropriately for the evening concert; girls can wear dresses or skirts, which are to the knee or below, and boys can wear dress slacks, dress shirt and tie, or a shirt with a collar. If possible, please try to avoid blue jeans, T-shirts with pictures/advertising, or tennis shoes. Attire for the morning concert can be more casual as students will have recess and maybe PE during the day.
The words and form of each song are available both on the ES Music Blog and as a hard copy so that your child can review and memorize the pieces. Knowing this material will help alleviate stress during the performances. Another stress reliever will be punctuality. Please ensure that your child is at the theater on time before the evening concert. You will want to arrive early as well so you can get a good seat!
ES Library Council The ES Library Council meets on Sunday’s during lunch time. All library council members are reminded to attend promptly. They should bring their lunch to eat in the front classroom. We will be working on preparing the upcoming library assemblies and we need all hands on board.
If any ES Library Council member does not want to continue, they are reminded that they must write a letter of resignation. The work that the ES Library Council does is important and we count on the commitment of our members.
Plastic Bottle Caps Wanted The ES library is collecting clean plastic bottle caps for a recycled art project. Please bring your clean bottle caps in any color or size to the ES or MHS libraries. There are collection boxes at both circulation desks.

Founder’s Day March 30 will be CAC’s second annual Founders Day. Founders Day is a time to celebrate not only our four founding organizations but also the people who make our personal experience here special.
We’re celebrating all of next week by asking CAC community members in Cairo and around the world to show their school pride and share stories of what made their time here special. In class on Monday, March 27, teachers will be distributing cards to students so they can write letters to the person at CAC that they’re most thankful for. On March 30, we’re asking CAC community members around the world to wear their school colors. Come to school on Thursday, March 30 wearing your CAC spirit wear to participate.
